The church itself was amazing, but our guide topped it with an engaged, huomoristic and very interesting tour. We really learned a lot from him and we all had a great experience and it was worth all the money.
We loved the overall experience and our tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable. She explained everything patiently and thoroughly. We highly recommend this tour.
We had a very nice tour, especially the guide was very, very nice, knowledgeable, very well read and above all friendly. You could ask him questions, he explained everything, took a toilet break and always kept an eye on his group!!!! I would recommend such a tour!!! It's really worth the money. There was so much going on, yet he kept calm and kept on explaining. We took away so much from this tour, including the history.....If you do a tour like this on your own you don't get this information at all. Thank you very much

Our guide Frédérico was sensational. With great explanations. We lived in the moment. And, above all, in beautiful French.

We took the tour in a small group. The starting point was easy to find. Our guide JAD was attentive to our needs, and we appreciated his explanations.

We had Michaela as our guide and we were more than impressed with her. There were a total of 18 young people in our group who stayed attentive until the end thanks to Michaela's manner. A thousand thanks to Michaela for this wonderful experience.

Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. What I didn't like was that it said it was a 2 hour tour and it was to start at 8:25 which it did however one of the most things I was looking forward to was the dome climb. Since the description said 2 hours I felt comfortable scheduling another tour at noon. We were still in line at 11:15 for the climb and we had to miss what I was really looking forward to to make sure we made our next tour. I would suggest in your description that the dome climb isn't until the end of the tour and that your tour can last upwards of 3-4 hours long. Since that was one of my highlights of your tour description we then went back after our other tour and then had to pay more to do the dome climb.
Good, a little disorganized and a lot of wasted time. But it was good. I went off on my own to explore, because the history can be googled or read in the library, most people already read and heard, then come to SEE it . Tour guide needs to focus on getting people inside, taking them to various biblical status, and areas, for pictures. This is not a history class, we only had 1-2hrs , but our tour guide spent 40 mins telling us stories and history outside and on the door way, While I applaud her of her knowledge, however this is not a history class, 6 of us had other tours scheduled right afterwards, so we left the tour midway to explore the Basilica on our own, including the Tomb areas underneath.
We had an unforgettable tour. Even though we thought we had booked an audio tour, we absolutely did not regret the guided tour. Alexandra is a very enthusiastic guide with extensive knowledge about St. Peter's and the Vatican. Her English is very good! Also highly recommended for visitors who have been to St. Peter's before!

I had an incredible experience on the St. Peter’s Basilica Guided Tour. Our guide was absolutely amazing and extremely knowledgeable about the rich history and architecture of the basilica. I walked away with a much deeper appreciation and understanding of this iconic site. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Vatican!
This was my first Headout experience and it was A+! First of all, our guide, Brigitta, was wonderful! So many informations and fun facts, she was also full of humor and funny comments, it was so nice! She really made us feel close to Rome, Vatican and their history. She eas really easy to talk to and that means a lot! The climb wasn't hard, whole 551 steps. The crowd on top was big, but that is what happens with big turistic places. Our trip was so much better because we had this day in the Vatican!
Brigida was a fabulous guide, we learnt such a lot & loved the whole experience. I highly recommend this tour and this company.
We had a wonderful tour with a very engaging guide who gave a lovely balance of facts and information with regard to art, construction, architecture and religion. She also catered to the needs of younger kids in the group as well as adults from different backgrounds.
Our guide was super knowledgeable really enjoyed the whole experience only downside people from group go missing and then we have to wait as guide tries phoning Why are people so selfish
We had a great guided tour of St. Peter's Basilica with Michaela. You can tell that she has a lot of heart, wit and a wealth of knowledge. You should plan at least 4 hours for the tour of this wonderful St. Peter's Basilica if you also want to go up to the dome. It was a very special moment for me when I came out of the grottoes and up into St. Peter's Basilica. It was an absolute WOW moment that overwhelmed me. After the tour, you still have time to climb the dome and go through the Holy Door (only in 2025 and then again in 25 years), past Michelangelo's Pietá. On Michaela's recommendation, we took a short break in a side chapel where neither cell phones nor talking are allowed. A guided tour of St. Peter's Basilica is an absolute must, because otherwise you never get to know all the background information. A big thank you to the organizer and to Michaela.

Everything that was mentioned in the tour we saw. Our guide Olga explained so much to the in-depth knowledge & history of The Vatican & sacred places. The crowds were overwhelming but Olga was able to guide us safely to the best vantage points
The tour was amazing. The tour guide we had (a lady with short brown hair and glasses whose name I didn't catch) was so nice and knowledgeable. We had 2 members of our group with mobility issues and she did her best to accommodate. Loved the details of the art and history. Very very enjoyable and would highly recommend.
Very complete visit, the meeting point very easy to locate. I would have liked to have been able to enjoy a little more of the Sistine Chapel, but there were many people and we passed quickly. Otherwise everything was great !!!!

First time in Rome for us. Booked a tour with Once Upon a Time tours to learn more about the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's basilica. Our group consisted of people from Switzerland, Netherlands, America, Canada. Our guide was Marta and she managed to take us through all the beauty that these impressive buildings have to offer in a fun and interesting way. Thanks to Marta we now know that the locals here do not know cheese but mozerella ;-) It was an experience never to forget. And will definitely come back for this again. Grazie mille Rome, grazie mille Marta it was fantastic!!! Jurgita & Edwin from Holland
Absolutely loved our guide, Antonio that also speaks Japanese. He was knowledgeable and passionate about his tours. He knew the end and outs making it unforgettable.
Very good guide bravo! However, we didn't have time to go to St Peter's Basilica, even though it was included in the ticket.

We visited the Vatican Museums with an exceptional guide named Marco and we were really thrilled with the experience. Marco was very well prepared, clear in his explanations and very passionate: he was able to convey to us the importance and beauty of the works of art in an engaging and never boring way. Thanks to him we were able to better appreciate the richness of the Vatican Museums, and the whole tour. We highly recommend this guided tour, especially with Marco: he made our day unforgettable!

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about both the history of all sites but also about how to effectively navigate the journey through the spaces during such an extremely crowded time. Due to the jubilee crowds we had some delays, and our tour ran long. She did not rush through the museums, nd gave us the complete tour anyway. Seeing that some on the group were getting tired, she sought out places to sit and rest, and was more concerned with everyone's health and happiness than ending on time. A native Roman, the depth of her knowledge, her personal perspectives, and her passion were amazing! Since the sistene chapel was closed, she spent 20 minutes using picture handouts to talk through the meaning of the art inside. The climb to the dome was my favorite part - to be inside seeing the mosaics and the perspective of such a grand church from above were incredible!
Our guide Theresa was simply great! She told and explained everything so well. The whole tour was super nice and absolutely recommendable.

Fantastic tour! It's worth it to skip the queues and have a guided tour with a small group. Wonderful experience which I would reccomend to anyone and will absolutely do it again.
Our guide, Francesca, was funny and easy to listen to. She brought the history to life with her stories and kept us all interested at what was a very busy time in the Vatican. The Vatican museums and gardens were stunning, the Sistine Chapel was breathtaking and St Peter's Basilicia was beautiful. Francesca's stories about the art in the Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo's antics were the highlight for me.
Our tour of the Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's basilica was amazing. The crowds were crazy but our tour guide kept us together and helped us get where we wanted to go. Her information was great and she was entertaining.
The guide was phenomenal !!! So knowledgeable, so invested in the history, and importing that to the group. Her timing, for ingress and egress to specific areas was so beneficial to the whole experience.
What an amazing tour. Natalia our guide was so well spoken and had such a vast knowledge of so much of the roman history, art ,culture and religion. I had my 85 and 86yr old Aunts with me and she was so considerate and kind to them and didn't rush them. It was a fabulous tour. From the book in to the end it was well run and operated very smoothly. Well worth it . It was longer than we thought and a lot of walking so bring small snacks and water!! Thank you crown tours for a wonderful experience .
The guide revealed a wealth of interesting information about Vatican City, the museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. It was an unforgettable experience.

It was a great success to have booked the guided tour of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica with Headout. I did not know you but I trusted the comments and I was right. Alessandro (our guide) was very experienced in getting around the Vatican and very knowledgeable in explaining each part of the Vatican. The highlight of our visit to th Vatican was going through the holy door, the crowd was not as bad as I thought they would be. Our host was great she took her time explaining and giving us the history behind the painting/structures/rooms. We spent most of our time in St. Peter basilica, we where able to go underground to see the tomb of the pope's. The we did some shopping in the Vatican store, it was a great experience.
The Vatican museums are simply stunning! They are truly worth visiting. We got along very well with Pietro, our guide, who guided us step by step through these wonderful rooms full of masterpieces.

Fantastic experience, the guide Susanna immersed us in a fascinating journey through works of art and fantastic places , the excellent explanations of the historical periods and the artists who made them, created a wonderful atmosphere of involvement and attention that we can rarely find in other guided tour experiences . We highly recommend a visit to the Vatican museums , Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's if you find yourself passing through Rome with this agency and if you then have the opportunity to have Susanna as your guide you will certainly have a wonderful experience as well .

Good that I can skip the queue. one person can use the audio guide, it's ok, but better also provide full pdf version, as sometimes the venue is super noisy so difficult to hear the audio even set to the loudest volume.
we didn't need the skip the line tickets because there wasn't a line at that time. We went two hours earlier then the tickets said and no crowds. We did love the digital experience, it helped describe what we were seeing . St. Pete's was the most amazing place I have ever seen and I will never forget the experience.
Everything went fine, we received the tickets via SMS the day before and were able to enter via skip the line without any problems.
View original review in Dutch
Skip-the-Line is the only way to go and this was really easy especially as for this trip the tickets were sent direct to my WhatsApp on the day without the need to go to an office and collect in advance. We particularly appreicated the audioguide which was downloadable in advance to listen to offline, during the visit and after. The commentary was excellent and had written explanation and photos as well as narration. And St Peter's is AMAZING!
There were no signs directing ticket holders to skip the line. It was not clear where in the basilica the starting point for climbing the dome was. We were not given any audio system, contrary to what was stated on the ticket.
For obvious reasons, many things have changed suddenly due to the death of the Pope. The audio guide was not clear to me. I found some sights with difficulty or not at all inside the basilica.
The basilica itself is beautiful and the walk up to the top of the dome worth all 304 steps. The guides were helpful once inside. The signage on the outside was not clear. I couldn't find where to pick up my audio device so I didn't get the that part of the tour. I also couldn't find the door inside to the dome, had to ask 3 people.
We visited the St Peter's Cathedral on the same day as the death of the pope. Heartbreaking and sad,but an experience that I will never forget. Never.
The entrance worked without any problems and the dome and St. Peter's Basilica were really impressive. Unfortunately, the signposting at St. Peter's Basilica is very poor, so we first stood in the normal queue for 5 minutes before we saw the one for online tickets.

Our favorite visit to Castel Sant'Angelo "**. We loved this iconic monument, which is both beautiful, well-maintained and super-convenient for visitors. Here's why we recommend it: **The big pluses:** - A **magnificent** site with a **passionate** tour - Super-practical audio-guide application** (with our own headphones) - Ticket cutting** which saved us a long wait **Conveniences that change everything :** ☕ **A nice café** with tables to sit and eat 🚻 **2 well-placed restrooms** along the tour route - super convenient! 🌇 **A breathtaking view** of Rome from the terraces **Our experience:** We spent 2 hours there, and no time went by! Between the cultural visit, the coffee break and the photos on the terraces, everything was perfect. Having accessible toilets and a place to rest really made the experience more enjoyable. *Little tip:* - Visit at the end of the day for the sunset. - Allow at least 2h30 to fully enjoy the site. - Don't hesitate to use the audio-guide (really well done) A must-see in Rome, perfectly laid out for visitors. We loved it! ★★★★★

It was a really neat building with a lot of history. I loved walking across the bridge with the Berninis sculpture, I loved seeing the museum portion that showed the different phases of how the building progressed over time. The statue of St. Angelo and the terrace were beautiful and the cafe with spritzers overlooking St. Peter's Basilica was fantastic.
The ticket purchase was very fast , very convenient from home, I wanted to print it out but didn't make it in time, I left it electronically on my phone. We arrived ahead of time , as we had been requested and have no line at the entrance, the stuart read us the electronic ticket with the portable scanner and we entered. We are from Rome, but it had been years and years since we entered Castel Sant'Angelo!!! It is a wonderful, wonderful place!!! You can palpate history with your hands! We had the audio guide who told us all the history in the various centuries and vicissitudes. It is spectacular!!! Reminiscing to the wars it went through, to the Passetto of the Popes of the Renaissance, of the rooms with the fireplaces of the Middle Ages , and then , the view of Imperial Rome from the terrace : a magnificent thing is unparalleled!!! One could see the monuments to the Unknown Soldier, the Tiber flowing under the road the majestic Bridges , the Vatican Basilicas !!! And what about the view seen from the refreshment point, from the bar: we sat down to eat something, and continued to observe Rome from above !!! Outstanding !!! Now I understand why tourists come in droves to Rome !!! These places are present are in Rome !!!

I really loved the beauty & history of St Peter's Basilica. It was awesome ☺️ However... I felt the tour was too rushed, it was very crowded and at one stage I got lost from the main group. Our tour guide rushed through too quickly with little time to stop and enjoy this remarkable church.
I liked that the tour guide was knowledgeable however, they were not engaging at all. No "energy", no communicating with the group. After half an hour, it became very boring. Also the whole tour felt really rushed.
- Small group and therefore clearly structured - Very personal and detailed - Very good personal contact - Questions answered very well

Ticketing experience really easy. Good instructions on meeting place. Great welcome from guide. Amazing information and spectacular sights to see
The guide on our tour was WONDERFUL and this review has nothing to do with him. Our tour was supposed to include breakfast (I spoke to an agent on support who confirmed this) There was no mention made of this when we got there, tour was at 8:00 and was moved to 8:15. We got there super early, there was no one to even talk too before the ticketing booth was open and at that point we were hearded out like cattle and the tour started at least 30 minutes late. Naturally we were hungry assuming they'd stop at some point, but no. Never happened. We asked the tour guide about it but unfortunately he knew nothing of it. It wasn't his fault at all and I don't blame him I blame the company. It was supposed to be an hour tour that turned into 2 1/2 hours. Tour was great but we were definitely hungry the whole time. I don't think breakfast should be advertised with the tour if you're not going to offer it. I also believe the length of the tour should be as advertised and that the tour should not start late if you're going to be so adamant in your emails that the tourist not be late.
St. Peter's Basilica is really beautiful and should be part of every visit to Rome. The tour guide was very nice and knew the answer to every question, made the tour exciting and often asked guessing questions. Thumbs up 😄

The experience ..awesome! But I had to pay twice as I missed the morning slot!! I contacted Jo who found me a place in the afternoon but I had to pay an extra 25 euros. As I had already paid for the morning I thought that this was unfair. 😞🤔
Our guide Valentina, was great, polite, knowledgeable. She kept our interest throughout the tour, making it a great experience. Thank you Valentina!
When we got there the venue was temporarily closed due to the amunt of visitors, this meant that once we got inside I just felt like the tour was very rushed, so that the tour guides could get onto the next group and catch up. This also meant that I missed my next tour and I wasn't able to get a refund on that because they said it was my fault still, even though the venue was closed.
Virginia (Ginny) gave us a wonderful tour of St, Peter's! She was an excellent guide and very personable and knowledgeable! Great experience! Thank you!
The guide Mariana was excellent, very well prepared, with very precise and pertinent information about the Basilica and its history. I recommend it.

Our knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed the information Eduardo (?) Imparted which made us understand the meaning behind many of the artwork gracing the Basilica and St. Peter's square.
It would have been helpful to know who we were looking for. 'The tour guy' not Headout. Si we were wandering around amidst the crowds until a security guard pointed us to The Tour Guy.
Truthfully, i only took the tour to "skip the line" because i have been in the basilica many times before. However, i so thoroughly enjoyed myself. Our tour guide was SO knowledgeable about everything. She even had a book with diagrams to make things easy to understand. I found it important to be given background about what we were viewing. I highly recommend this tour!
Meeting point easy to find, Laura the guide was wonderful, full of knowledge and looked after us very well. After the tour we took the option to pay to go up to the dome which was great too.
We had an amazing guide Stefano, who did an excellent tour, very insightful and informative. It was truly an unforgettable experience.
The incredible talent, knowledge and enthusiasm of the guide, Agnese Angelichi, that gave life to these rooms and peoples and the moments when we felt that Castel.
Excellent! Would definitely recommend this

Initially we weren't on "the list" perhaps due to booking a day prior to the event. We were told to wait until everyone was checked in and was escorted over to a guide. She was amazing. I wish I knew her name to give her an A++ review she deserved. She got us to the front of the line and the best aisle seats to view Pope Leo. Memories to last a lifetime!!
The process of locating the guide was extremely stressful - I arrived at 630am and still by 715 it was a chaos with tour guides shouting at each other and no one offering helpful service. Only after I had to be very forceful to a staff member to say I'm not a late no show I have a ticket did they allow me to join.
We were on our own for the Papal Audience, she simply gave us the yellow invitation and sticker and showed us where to go for security check, which was a huge line the figure ourselves out once inline looking for seats on our own in huge lines. We were then supposed to go back to meet her at McDonalds after Pope audience, but the crowds were huge and hard to walk back in the heat so it was harder to go back in the heat so we went into St. Peter on our own. It was harder to go back looking for her once we were there than to just go ahead and look around own our own. Very inconveniencing
First, No one was holding up an orange umbrella, it was leaning against the wall and couldn't be seen. The guide for the tour, had us wait an hour and another guide made us get out our. Tickets again to split up group. Unorganized. The flag she was holding didn't say "English' but a.small ribbon with a tiny bear. Guide Maria walked us around for 30 minutes not being able to get in. The tour didn't even start and by 12:30 pm we were still in line. Twice we were told by guide to turn around and walk back through crowds to different locations. I video tape me giving back my radio to Maria as others were doing as well. We would have never gotten into Basillica by time it was supposed to be over. Extremely disappointed and I would like a refund I never have bad experiences but every single person in the group was complaining as well about what they said was "a rip off" . I chose to leave this unhealthy experience and all the negative energy. Please refund my money. TY
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! There was no one at the meeting spot and no other tour guides knew about Headout . We wasted ovwr $100 for no ticket . I would NOT recommend Headout !!
Highly recommended! We booked online from Mexico and had a great experience. The guide in Spanish made us vibrate with her way of telling the story. The only thing I would suggest is to put a little flag or some sign at the meeting point because when you arrive there are so many people that it is a little confusing with other tours.

The guide Bridgette was excellent in her tour of St Peter's basilica, she was very knowledgeable and attentive of her group The papal audience was made very easy to access for us
Great experience to see the Pope. However, the audience appears to be free. Not entirely clear why this then has to be via Headout. The tour of St. Peter's Basilica was great, impressive and with a guide who was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and knew how to engage the participants.

The Jubilee at St. Peter’s Basilica is held once every 25 years and marks a rare occasion for spiritual reflection and renewal. Pilgrims from around the world travel to Rome to walk through the Holy Doors—a powerful act symbolizing forgiveness and fresh starts. With special blessings, ceremonies, and a shared sense of purpose, the Jubilee celebration is an experience you won’t want to miss.
You can still experience and enjoy the Jubilee even if you're not a pilgrim.
